" A rare opportunity to purchase this well proportioned detached bungalow originally constructed in the 1800s and subsequently used as a blacksmith's cottage. Planning permission was granted in April 2008 (W08647/1) for ground and first floor extensions to create a five bedroom property with three en-suites, conservatory and also to convert the garage/carport into an annexe. The current accommodation comprises covered porch with courtesy light and part glazed front door to the entrance hall which has exposed timber beams and a built-in cloaks cupboard. The cloak/shower room has a Mira shower unit, low level wc and pedestal basin. The sitting room has secondary glazed leaded light windows to two aspects, coal effect gas fire set in a brick fireplace surround and exposed timber beams to the ceiling. The dining room also has timber beams to the ceiling, double glazed windows and casement doors to the rear garden. The kitchen is fitted with a range of base units, drawer, wall cupboards and working surfaces, there is a built-in Rayburn gas range, bult-in dishwasher and plumbing for a washing machine. There are three bedrooms, two with double glazed bow windows and built-in wardrobes and the third with double glazed casement doors to the rear garden. The bathroom is fitted with a suite comprising panelled bath, pedestal basin, low level wc and there is a built-in airing cupboard.

Handel Cottage is approached via a metal six bar gate which opens into a brick paved driveway providing parking for two vehicles and a brick and timber carport with space for further vehicles and an adjoining garage/workshop. There is a small front garden laid to lawn with side pedestrian access to either side of the property to the rear. The south facing rear garden measures about 90'0 in length and is laid mainly to lawn with a large paved patio area, ornamental pond, mature and well stocked flower and shrub borders also several varieties of trees.
Situation
The cottage is situated in the highly regarded Uplands Road on the west side of Denmead village. Denmead has a range of shops for day to day needs, All Saints Church and church hall, two schools (Denmead Infant School and Denmead Junior School) and King George's playing fields. The main town of Waterlooville is about two miles away which has an excellent range of shops and a sports centre. There are main line railway stations at Havant and Petersfield providing a service from Portsmouth to London Waterloo.
