DESCRIPTION
Calvert was built in the Victorian era originally for the workers of the London Brick works, which closed down over 20 years ago. The old clay pits are now used as a nature reserve, sailing lake and a smaller lake that is used for recreational fishing. Today a newly built housing estate called Calvert Green has been added to greatly enlarge the village offering Village Hall and Green with several play areas.

Amenities are located in the neighbouring village of Steeple Claydon. Steeple Claydon is one of the largest villages in the Aylesbury Vale, and it has a very active local community.
