Woodland
Woodland is a traditional village occupying an elevated position and situated between Barnard Castle, Wolsingham and Hamsterley. It is surrounded by open countryside and supports a public house along with post office/stores and a primary school.

A wider range of shopping, educational and recreational facilities can be found in the neighbouring market towns of Barnard Castle, Bishop Auckland and Darlington.

Many of the regions renowned beauty spots are close at hand, beyond which can be found the delights of North Yorkshire, the Lake District, Northumberland and the East Coast.
