Description

"

Positioned on the first floor of a handsome late Victorian conversion, this immaculately refurbished two bedroom apartment lies in the heart of Stoneygate, a leafy and architecturally rich suburb to the south of Leicester. The property forms part of a striking period conversion dating to 1879 and has undergone a sensitive renovation, resulting in a beautifully composed home that balances original detail with contemporary design.

The apartment is approached via a communal entrance and a private staircase leading to a spacious hallway, where soft tones and natural light set a calm and inviting tone. From here, all rooms are accessed. The main reception room is a standout space, defined by soaring ceilings, three original sash windows set into a bay, and finely preserved period detailing. The room has been finished with a quiet elegance, offering a versatile backdrop for both relaxation and entertaining. The kitchen has been redesigned with both function and form in mind, with new surfaces, cabinetry, flooring, and a Neff electric oven installed in late 2020. There is space for additional appliances, and a timber framed window draws in light from the side aspect. The design is pared back, allowing the quality of material and craftsmanship to speak for itself.

There are two double bedrooms, both generously proportioned and beautifully finished, highlighting the apartment s flexibility. Throughout, new carpets and considered decorative choices complement the home s historic bones with original Victorian sash windows, picture rails and soaring ceilings. The bathroom and separate WC have also been refurbished in a contemporary style, with a focus on clean lines and efficient use of space.

Presented immaculately, offered with no upwards chain and with the added benefit of an extended lease of 137 years remaining, an early viewing is essential to appreciate the convenience the property has to offer to an extensive range of nearby amenities and the overall condition of the home.

Vendor comments

De Monfort Court has been a complete dream, it was the first and only property I saw when I was looking for a place to call home four years ago and I m so glad I didn t hesitate in making it mine. My favourite things about the flat are the proportions and the giant Victorian windows. Sitting in the bay window of the living room, with the sash open, playing records and enjoying a cup of coffee on a spring morning is what I will miss the most. I m terribly sad to say goodbye to the flat but I ve now moved to London and I m hoping it will find a new owner who loves living there as much as I have.
