"Of course not all who buy in Oxton buy for 'period' and the associated upkeep that suggests and here is a great example of the complete opposite in what is a thoroughly modern, gorgeously comfortable and, we guess, easy to maintain detached home central to Oxton Village.

First impressions do count This is a home that appears impeccable. In decor, in style, in finishing. A home, as you can see, that is more 'show house' than merely 'moveinable.' Soft relaxing contemporary decor sits comfortably with a number of different floor finishes: polished, solid wood oak to the hall; glazed beige tiling to the kitchen, living room combination. Spectacle Having said that, the piece de resistance to this home is unquestionably in the kitchen living or dining room quarters. Created by our clients by means of an extension and opening up of pre exisitng rooms, they have created a style of an American kitchen with living room space that can adequately accommodate either or; lounging and or dining. A room to show off The kitchen itself is quite striking both for the colours as much as for the extent of the work space and number of units. We must say that the photos don't quite bring out the true colour impact, not quite. There's a rich caramel like tone to the high gloss units and this compliments very well the nut brown granite work surfaces and what seems like acres of fine ceramic beige floor tiling. Entertaining in style The central island allows you to prepare whatever it is you may present to guests and family without having you back to them for most of the time. For that, in may ways it's a social hub and altogether a much more engaging and informal affair. We loved it. .And there's absolutely packs of storage both from the triple floor to ceiling units as well as from the many soft closing extra wide drawer units. Appliances, of course, come as standard. Extra feature The final word on this considerably cool space would be to highlight the bi folding doors. Once open they bring the garden to the room and vice versa and for that a huge amount of natural light. The choice of floor tiling comes to its own when, around the middle of the day, maximum light is reflected. (In the evening the mood lighting takes over). Added value A big plus, of course, is to be able to keep an easy eye on the little ones as they play outdoors; and talking of toddlers reminds us to mention the rather smart cloakroom facilities. Separately The front living room is naturally less dramatic than the previous experience. It's like the 'quiet room'. Relaxing, gracefully neutral and a comfortable size with a central fireplace as the focal point. Upstairs Here there are four similarly presented bedrooms. The largest has a very clear opportunity of creating an en suite room. There is adequate space with wash hand basin and plumbing for loo etc. The main bathroom is fresh, modern and well tiled and with shower over the bath. Outdoors There's plenty of parking to the front as well as a carport and garage to the side. A considerable amount of grey slate flagging runs out from the bi folding doors to create a comfortably sized patio before the garden. This, we consider, to be the right proportion of outdoor space considering the amount of internal accommodation; and you can just see the second patio to the bottom of the garden, along by the sandstone wall, for that late afternoon relax... Locator The house stands near to the top of Rose Mount so it's as easy a stroll to the bus stop for school on Storeton Road as it is to nip into the village for the 'paper and pint of milk. Although, of course, this busy little 'Conservation' village has much more services and shops to offer. To find 53 Rose Mount we'll start you in the very centre of the village; the Post Box. Head right up passed the eateries, deli and Post Office and away from the shops, up the hill and you'll see our for sale sign on the left hand side.
