The village has a small selection of shops, public houses and a theatre. It is situated between the towns of Brynmawr and Ebbw Vale. Both towns have a wider selection of shops and supermarkets, with Ebbw Vale having a modern leisure centre and a railway station with hourly trains to Cardiff.

Leave the town of Brynmawr, going towards Ebbw Vale, after entering the village of Beaufort you will pass the Farmers Arms on the left. Take the next turning left, go down the road and turn left and the house is signed on the right.
