Heckmondwike itself is a small market town and home to a number of shops and public houses. The property is within the catchment area for Heckmondwike Grammar School. Being well placed for commuting to nearby towns, Batley, Dewsbury and Huddersfield to mention a few and the close proximity both the M1 and M62 make commuting further afield not too much of a chore.
