" Built in 1961 & designed by Italian architect Bernard Ruggieri, our clients have occupied this spacious home since 1962. They have made numerous improvements including installation of sealed unit double glazing & first floor extension providing a master bedroom with dressing area. The original design ethos of open plan, free flowing accommodation has been retained whilst visually dividing itself into 3 defined areas. A central staircase separates the dining & lounge areas & a study to the side can be partitioned by bi-fold doors. The large Yorkstone open fireplace with its copper chimney was once featured in Homes & Gardens magazine & full width glazed doors gives access to the garden. The former covered patio has been enclosed to form a utility area & to the front is an open plan kitchen separated by a breakfast bar & suspended glazed display cabinets. The gas hob & electric double oven are integrated & provision has been made for other appliances with a casement door leading to a lobby & small courtyard. To the first floor, a central roof light floods the landing with natural light & the 4 double bedrooms have built-in wardrobes & the guest room has a shower cubicle. In addition to the family bathroom is a ground floor cloakroom. Outside: The rear west facing garden is enclosed by brick walling with a magnificent magnolia tree & a brick store/workshop.
