" This fine family residence, dates back to 1901, an era when good quality building materials were plentiful, craftsmanship was the order of the day and particular attention paid to the architectural detail. This delightful family home has both feet firmly planted in the late Victorian style with its spacious regular shaped rooms, high corniced ceilings, oak flooring and impressive staircase. Whilst the character has been preserved, this is not at the expense of comfort with modern day features like double-glazing, modern gas central heating and an impressive kitchen/breakfast room. The enormous loft space provides excellent possibilities for conversion, subject to the usual consents. This really is a home for all seasons, you can imagine it decorated for a traditional Christmas and the sound of laughter; then in the summer open the large windows and French doors to allow the breeze through and flood the rooms with sunlight.
As you enter the original stained glass front door, you will not be disappointed. The wide reception hall with its oak flooring, original staircase and high ceiling gives a taster of what?s to come. Steps lead down from under the main staircase into a cellar that is a useful dry storage area with power, light and sufficient head height. Step into the south facing drawing room that is awash with natural light provided by the wide bay window; this is an elegant comfortable room retaining its fireplace (chimney now capped) with matching panelling that complements the oak floor. To the rear is a separate dining room, which is a splendid room perfect for entertaining, retaining its fireplace (chimney now capped) with a Minster style limestone surround and French doors opening onto the terrace. The large kitchen/breakfast room provides the ?wow? factor and whilst modern in its design it retains that traditional feel. It has been comprehensively fitted with a range of walnut style units with black granite worktops and a central island inset with a sink and breakfast bar. The setting of the original range has been retained and provision made for a modern range cooker with an extractor hood over. Space has also been provided for an American style refrigerator and dishwasher and there is ample space for an 8 seat dining table. In addition, there is an adjoining utility room and downstairs shower room. To the first floor are four double bedrooms each with built-in wardrobes leading off the spacious split level landing. The bay fronted master bedroom is a lovely room of a generous size with ample space for freestanding furniture. The family bathroom has also skilfully blended modern design with traditional styling, attractively fitted with a white suite incorporating a large walk-in shower. Council Tax: Band E
