Location    Lelant was a flourishing port on the Western bank of the Hayle estuary in the middle ages but as the river silts up its importance as a port has declined with the present Old Quay House indicating where the Western most navigable point for trading vessels used to be. The estuary is now an internationally renowned sanctuary for wading birds and an area of special scientific interest. There is also a scenic railway line from the local station at Lelant along the coast to nearby St Ives and also connecting with the main inter-city Penzance to London - Paddington line at St Erth. Lelant is ancient and well considered village with an active village life with a real sense of community. The village is centred around its 15th Century church of St Uny nestling on the edge of the dunes and its prominent public house The Badger. The challenging West Cornwall golf club is around a mile from the property and there are a range of walks available along the shores of the estuary and also along the coastal footpaths to
