From the town centre follow the signs for the rail station, on approaching the junction to the railway station turn left into Castle Street. From The Plains in Totnes, turn into Fore Street, proceed under the clock tower in High Street. Continue up the High Street, past St Mary's Church, turn right after the Butterwalk into Castle Street. Totnes is an ancient market town and river port in the South Hams area of South Devon. The busy, narrow streets, dominated by castle and church tower are full of architectural and historic interest, while the green horizon is always visible just beyond the houses.
