Nestling on the slopes of Hayne Down and commanding stunning views of Dartmoor in every direction, this glorious five bedroom, family home is set within its own beautiful gardens and ancient woodland totalling 2.3 acres.

Situated less than a mile from the sought-after village of Manaton, it enjoys peace and privacy whilst still being close to village life. The historic village has a good local pub with a shop, a renowned 15th century church, cricket and tennis clubs and is less than 30 minutes from Newton Abbot with direct trains to Exeter, London Paddington, Edinburgh, Plymouth and Leeds. The A38 Devon Expressway (which provides direct dual carriageway access to the M5 at Exeter) is less than 15 minutes away by car.

The house, built in the 1930s, has spacious and well laid out accommodation arranged over two floors.

On the ground floor is a side-entrance porch/boot room, with WC, leading into the kitchen and through to the dining room. This room has stunning views towards Hunters Tor at the front and glazed double doors leading out onto the rear terrace and gardens at the back. The sunny and generously-sized sitting room has a front entrance porch, an attractive open fireplace and windows on all sides which give fine views over the gardens and surrounding countryside.

On the first floor there are three double bedrooms, two single bedrooms and a family bathroom. Spectacular views from this floor cover Hunters Tor Sharpitor, Trendlebere Down, Easdon Tor, St Winifreds Church, Manaton and Manaton Rocks.

Outside is a large double garage with an additional room currently used as an office/study. The well-maintained, mature gardens include a variety of native trees, extensive lawn areas, flower and vegetable gardens and fruit trees. Terraced areas surround the property on three sides giving a sunny aspect at any time of day. Also within the grounds there are a double-bay goat shed, a small chicken shed and a greenhouse.

The broadleaf woodland is situated to the rear of the property and boasts some splendid examples of oak, ash, beech, birch, sycamore, hazel, blackthorn and more. In the spring it is transformed by a carpet of bluebells and throughout the year acts as a haven for all types of Dartmoor wildlife, including badgers, foxes, deer, dormice, owls, ravens, buzzards, woodpeckers etc. Within the wood is a secluded, level grass area ideal for picnics and camping.

Viewing is highly recommended.
