" Boakes Meadow, Shoreham Village, Sevenoaks. The village of Shoreham sits beside the river Darent as it winds through the North Downs, and is situated sixmiles north of Sevenoaks. Reputed to be the most bombed village in Britain, the famous great white cross cut in the chalk hillside is a monument to commemorate thedead of the First World War. The area has been featured in the paintings of the artist Samuel Palmer, one of the famous residents of Shoreham. The village has a localstore, golf club and primary school and a number of public houses. Sevenoaks town is approximately 5 miles distant offering a wider range of shopping, social andeducational facilities.
