Broseley Wood has a strong individual character with its origin as a squatter settlement evident in the haphazard maze of streets, lanes and narrow paths known as 'jitties', clinging to the steep slopes between Broseley and Bridge Road.

Broseley town centre has a supermarket, chemist, post office, local butcher, bank, library, medical centre, dentist, ironmongers, 2 primary schools and a third excellent primary school in Barrow, nursery school, local ramblers association covering many countryside walks, bridlepaths including the infamous Jack Mytton Way, active amateur dramatics society, camera club, film society, historical society, cricket club, football clubs, snooker and bowls club, and other local community interests with functions held at the Victoria Hall in the centre of Broseley town.

Local bus service transports school children to and from William Brookes secondary school in Much Wenlock - easy access onto the A458 Shrewsbury to Bridgnorth road - 12 miles and 8 miles distant respectively.
