Situation The property is situated in the sought after west side of the village at the foot of the Quantock Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a local post office, store, public house, village church, popular primary school and village hall. Many rural pursuits can be enjoyed within the area including golf at the neighbouring village of Enmore, fly fishing at the nearby Hawkridge Reservoir within the village itself and sailing and fishing at the Durleigh Reservoir, which is some two miles from the property. Taunton, the County Town, offers a wide range of facilities as well as an excellent choice of schools and good communications including a mainline railway link to the rest of the country. Description Cridlands East is an impressive village house, having an attractive facade with exposed local stone elevations under a distinctive pitched tiled roof. The gardens are delightful and are of a cottage style to the front, side and rear of the house and are laid to lawn with deep planted herbaceous borders, including a number of specimen plants and shrubs. There are also a variety of fruit trees and a courtyard, which can be lit up in the evening. There is an outbuilding including three timber built stores, greenhouse and a vegetable patch with raised beds. The gardens enjoy a wonderful outlook over fields to the rear and to the front. Directions From Taunton, proceed out of town on Kingston Road and go through Kingston St Mary. Go to the top of Buncombe Hill, turning right at the Pines Cafe, signposted to Spaxton. After a short distance, turn left just past the Travellers Rest, signposted again to Spaxton. Follow the lane over the hill and this leads down to the edge of the village. Turn right at the T-junction and proceed along this road where Cridlands East can be found on the left hand side, just after the former Methodist Chapel, which is on the right.
