South Petherton is a small residential country town with a village atmosphere set in attractive surrounding countryside one mile from the A303 roadway and offers a wide range of shopping facilities, a day centre, two schools, library, inn, Post Office, bank, churches, doctor and veterinary surgeries, chemist, tennis and bowling clubs and bus services to neighbouring towns and villages. Yeovil is 10 miles, Crewkerne 6 miles (mainline station to Waterloo), Ilminster 6 miles and the county town of Taunton (M5 motorway and mainline station to Paddington) 18 miles.
