" Winterfold is a lovely four bedroom family home situated close to the church in the glorious and most sought after village of Shalbourne. Offering a superb opportunity to refurbish and extend (subject to the usual consents) this lovely home sits in an elevated position in the centre of generous gardens. Downstairs there is an open central hall with parquet flooring leading through to a large triple aspect sitting room, also with parquet flooring and with French windows opening on to the garden. The parquet flooring continues into the dining room which has a serving hatch through to the kitchen. The kitchen is well situated with a view out to the garden and is now in need of updating: it also features a larder cupboard and a door leading to a useful lean-to boot room. An oak staircase leads upstairs to a well proportioned landing with four double bedrooms leading off, two with basins and all serviced by a family bathroom with a separate WC. An integrated garage completes the house.

Situation
Shalbourne is a pretty and highly sought after village surrounded by unspoilt downland countryside designated An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has an active community with Post Office/general stores, public house, a primary school and a fine church. Hungerford (4 miles) offers a good range of services and amenities together with rail services to London Paddington. The sought after market town of Marlborough is 12 miles away and Junction 14 of the M4 motorway is 7 miles. Newbury, Swindon and Andover are easily commutable. From Marlborough take the A346 heading towards Burbage. At the roundabout take the A338 signposted for Hungerford, proceed along this road and follow the second turning into Shalbourne. On entering the village keep an Winterfold will be on the right hand side in front of the church

There are a number of evergreen trees and well established bushes including a wonderful beech hedge. A private gate to the rear of the property opens onto a path to the 13th century church.
