The Abbotsbrook, with its private roads and watercourses, dates from 1907. The residents have the privilege of being able to navigate small boats on the stream through the estate which is close to the Thames and a short walk to Bourne End Marina and the Upper Thames Sailing Club. 

It is a level walk (some 200 metres) to the centre of the riverside village of Bourne End which has a selection of shops, cafes and services. There is local schooling at both primary and secondary level within walking distance and High Wycombe, Maindenhead and Marlow offer private schooling and well regarded grammar schools.

For the commuter, the M4 and M40 Motorways are easily accessible. Bourne End railway station is only 0.25 miles away and connects via Maidenhead to London Paddington (approx 40 mins.). Cross Rail services in 2019 at Maidenhead will greatly enhance commuting to the West End and the City of London. The villages of Cookham and Marlow are a pleasant walk along the Thames towpath.
