The town nestles within beautiful countryside which includes National Trust countryside and Leith Hill with views over 12 counties (on a clear day) and has many historical routes which go back beyond Roman times. The town centre is surrounded by many small villages which offer various amenities and sites of local interest. Dorking is well served by local train services with convenient and regular trains connecting the town with London, Guildford, Gatwick Airport and many other towns in Surrey.
