When we moved to the Island we planned on staying for no longer than two years. That was in 1985. Bringing up 2 children in a safe, friendly environment was important to us. Foremost, we were blessed by good neighbours, who became great friends. The village boasts a comfortable community spirit and Yarborough Road has maintained a healthy feeling of valuable camaraderie without sacrificing neighbourly privacy. The path at the rear leads to breathtaking countryside, and has provided my family with walks, runs and bike rides, and is a constant reminder that there's an alternative to living the kind of lifestyle in which many tend to become trapped.
