" Charming and sizeable (1,376 sq ft) period property, formerly an antique shop, with 3 bedrooms and lovely views close to the town centre

Charming and large (1,376 sq ft) period property, formerly an antique shop, with 3 bedrooms and lovely views Described by many as the' gateway to the Cotswolds', Chipping Norton offers all the benefits of a country market town with a wide range of amenities (including a famous theatre) and historic architecture, set amid wonderful rolling countryside. In addition to the countryside many people including various TV, music and media personalities gravitate here because of its easy access to London and Oxford via road and rail. For more info about the town visit www.chippingnorton.net 21 West End is an unusual house oozing character. It has been variously a sweet shop and an antique shop, hence it's well known to most local residents, it was converted a few years ago to provide a main house with a flat beneath. Our clients have reorganised the building as one dwelling, consequently it now offers good sized accommodation, with lots of natural light in many rooms and more space than you would expect. The house is located a short walk from the centre of the town, and sits at the end of a terrace with gorgeous views across roofs to the rear. The front door opens into a quirky and charming reception room. The original shop window to the front is a great height and width, plus there is a further window to the side, so the room is quite light. Overhead are beams, to the left is an open fireplace, and there is also an exposed timber pillar support between this and the dining area. Two steps lead up the dining space which is ample for a table and chairs with room to spare for a sideboard or other furniture, in addition to which there are many shelves fitted to the rear wall plus an under stairs cupboard. Behind this a door leads into the kitchen which is fully fitted with oak units. Cleverly the oven and hob have been placed between the rear and side windows and the sink sits under the window to the rear, giving a view of the fields and valley beyond. The floor is tiled as is some of the wall space, and overhead are further beams. On the first floor both bedrooms are a good size with several windows. To the front the double bedroom has a curved eaves ceiling and windows to two sides. The rear bedroom has three windows, the rearmost of which has a panoramic view across the fields and valley to the rear, and its size is such that the vendors use the room as both a bedroom and a workspace! Between these two is a family bathroom with a white suite and a window to the side. The basement set up is rather unique. Originally no doubt storage etc for the shop, when the conversion took place the floor was set up as a separate flat. Hence there is a door into a rear hall which comes from the courtyard garden (with access from a side road). This rear hall feeds off to a shower room, there are then two further rooms. Currently the front room, which is a good size but with a low ceiling, is used as a hobby/ play room. To the rear another room is set up as a bedroom and study. This whole floor could be a separate flat/ granny annex/ teenager bedroom or hobby space. To the rear the courtyard garden is compact, and paved for easy maintenance. Behind it a separate room within a stone building (attached to the rear neighbouring property's garage) has been set up as an outside office with power and light. The front is enclosed by railings between which is the entrance to the parking area which is hard paved and can accommodate one vehicle - there is further unrestricted parking down the side road immediately adjacent to the house.
