" Having been commissioned as the residence for the Station Commander back when RAF West Raynham formed part of this country's first line of defence during the dark days of The Battle of Britain and then on throughout The Cold War, this is, as you might expect, a significant and historic house. Built to reflect the status and responsibility of its occupier, and perfectly arranged for entertaining large groups of people, there is an abundance of ground floor living space all of which flows very purposefully together. Upstairs there are seven bedrooms and three bathrooms arranged over the first and second floors, with the master bedroom suite having a large en-suite bathroom. Outside the house sits in a well proportioned plot with a south facing lawned garden to the rear and a carriage driveway to the front, affording it ample off street parking in addition to its integral garage. In recent times Number Four has been completely re-roofed as well as having all the windows and window frames replaced with double glazing, thus ensuring that the house is water tight for many years to come. Whilst the hard work on the outside has already been done, the interior remains completely stripped back and, as such, now offers the next custodian a wonderful opportunity to create their own style and finish from scratch. This is a fantastic and substantial home extending to over 4,500 sq ft and is perfect in both size and location for modern family living.

WEST RAYNHAM Nestling in the heart of the North West Norfolk countryside, West Raynham is a small historic village, approximately six miles from Fakenham with a primary school and village hall. The RAF had a base two miles from West Raynham from the 1930s, but this closed in the 1990's and the land has now been sold by the MOD. The church, St Margaret's was first built in the 11th century and extended in the 14th century. It fell into ruin from the 1720s, when the roof lead was removed to help pay for the restoration of St. Mary's in East Raynham, but it has since been partially restored and is used occasionally. The nearby market town of Fakenham offers a variety of shops, restaurants, pubs, cinema, bowling alley, golf and race course.
