A Quick note from the Seller:

My two houses are nothing special but their very existence makes them unique – as farm workers’ homes that survived the wholesale demolition of the 1960s.

When I look through any window, I wonder how many have done the same before me; when I open the cupboard in the living room and see the warped, but still sturdy, shelf, I smile. My love is based on their history and my history. I have lived in one or other house for over thirty years and my mother moved to number 8 to be close – which allowed me to raise my children, whilst tending for my parents.

Each house has a peace and calmness, embracing all who live or visit here. They love folks!

It is quiet here. Little traffic passes the door (twenty cars, then it’s a busy day), the beautiful location and wider countryside, the fact that you can hear the birdsong all year round and measure the changing seasons – all make it a wonderful place to call home.

That said doesn’t mean it is isolated, far from it - good road and rail links and a decent bus service mean you are never far away from modern life.

I will be very sad to leave here but it is time to move on, as my children have, and allow others to enjoy what I have had whilst introducing the houses to the 21st century.

Hopefully, the resident frog will be with you for many years – how it came into the garden I will never know – but it has been here for at least six years (few slugs on our patch!). And with luck, the great spotted woodpecker and small family of long tailed tits will rock up again this winter too!
