" A substantial early 18th century detached Grade II Listed property located close to the centre of the village set in attractive gardens and grounds extending to 0.233 of an acre incorporating a self contained annexe facility (which has generated a rental income of n++6,300 per annum) and a useful garage/outbuilding. The property is constructed of attractive coursed local ironstone under a thatched roof featuring a carriage way entrance with timber wheel in the roof space. Internally, there are also many period features to include a walk in open fireplace with chamfered bressumer beams, exposed ceiling beams and stonework and casement windows with timber lintels. The property has been sympathetically upgraded by the current owners with modern and tasteful fittings to provide convenient modern family living.

The property is referred to in a book by a celebrated local historian which notes that over time, this characterful building has been home to a range of businesses including a bakers, fruiterers, hairdressers and originally as a butchers for which the impressive butchers wheel remains in place as a feature.

Situation
Byfield is situated north of Banbury on the A361 and offers facilities to include School, a Public House, Post Office, Village Stores, Garage and a Medical Centre. There is also a regular bus service to Banbury and Daventry. More comprehensive facilities can be found in Banbury to the south to include the Castle Quay Shopping Centre and Daventry to the north.
