The village of Ossington is situated approximately eight miles north of Newark. The village is approached by country lanes from Sutton on Trent, Kneesall and Laxton. this is one of the most picturesque locations in Nottinghamshire with adjacent rolling countryside. The large settlement of Sutton on Trent is approximately two miles. Here there is an excellent range of amenities including a Co-operative store, primary school, family butcher's and hairdressers. There are three primary schools at Sutton on Trent, Norwell and Kneesall. Secondary schooling is available at the Tuxford Academy and also in Newark.
