" Overview
House Network are delighted to be able to offer this magnificent 4 bedroom detached, eco friendly, timber frame home situated in a cul-de-sac location providing access to local amenities and excellent access to the A1. This was originally the show home for the northumberland eco house project and, as such, was professionally built by Finish Engineers direct from Artic house. The timber frame work is slow grown arctic pine (lapland originated). It is harvested and processed in Finland and imported to the UK. Highly strong, dense, resilient and a beautiful building material.

This exceptional home has an amazing lounge with double hight exposed ceiling and overlooked by a mezzanine. There is a modern kitchen with stainless steel, range style cooker, 2 double bedrooms and recently refurbished bathroom also on the ground floor. The 1st floor has been significantly improved to include 2 further well proportioned bedrooms, the master having the mezzanine and walk in wardrobe (potential/planned for conversion to an en-suite w.c). The second bedroom already having an en-suite.

Externally there is generous off road parking for numerous vehicles on two drives. There is a detached, sizeable garage to the front. To the rear there is generous, enclosed, lawned garden with mature hedge and trees for privacy.

The large property covers approximately 1531 square ft.

Additional notes:

- Building completion certificate issued 1st July 2002
- Built professionally by Engineers brought over from Finland as an Eco house show home.
- Rain water recycling system to underground collection tank - not plumbed into house hold (but potentially could be if desired) available for garden use and reduces water rates.
- Wall construction cavity wall using super efficient Wool sourced insulation (for eco credentials) as well as high inherent insulation from slow grown imported Finish pine log timber framework (see artic house web site for more details)
- Triple solar panels, adding to the efficiency of house
- 'Smart' skylight with electrical control for opening, blind operation, rain sensor auto closing etc.
- Roof construction using conventional King span / isowool with Pan tiles.
- Recently professionally painted using advanced breathable Scandinavian wood paint solution. Will not need doing for another 8 years.

Reason for sale of my stunning 'Grand Designs' eco house on the beautiful Northumberland coast? Arrival of twins and down turn in the oil industry means having a second home is simply too expensive a luxury. Originally valued and marketed at ?260,000, this unique house will make some one a very good investment, either as main property or like myself as a second house by the coast. Renting as a holiday house is another potential, with close links to Drurage bay park(15m walk), and access to Alnwick castle, Hadrians wall, Lindisfarn, Bemish, Cragside house and the other beautiful (and increasingly flourishing) Northumberland coast tourist attractions
