The Area


This charming and characterful cottage sits in the rural hamlet of Alwinton which lies in Upper Coquetdale near to the border of Northumberland?s National Park. Alwinton itself consists of a local pub and an array of individual style cottages and houses and arguably is in one of the most picturesque areas of the county.

The nearby town of Rothbury offers a good range of amenities including shops, restaurants, banks, health care and an 18 hole golf course. The area is well know for the Simonside Hills and National Park. The historic market town of Morpeth sits a further 15 miles away and offers a much wide range of amenities including many high street retailers.

From Rothbury follow the B6341 out towards Thropton, follow this road right through Thropton until you come to Flotterton, as the road bares left, take the junction on your right and head up Greenside Bank signposted Alwinton, Harbottle and Sharperton follow this road through both Harbottle and Sharperton until you get to the Hamlet which is signposted as Alwinton. As you come into Alwinton come over the bridge and the Cottage is the first property on your left.
