Location    Preston Village, described by Parson and White in their descriptive book on Durham and Northumberland of 1828 as: "a very pleasant village 1mile north of North Shields ... It occupies a fine eminence which commands an extensive and beautiful prospect. Here are several gentlemen's villas, two public gardens, two common breweries, four public houses and a linen manufactory: besides about 100 houses and cottages which have a neat and clean appearance."
What a fabulous insight into the history of this village, however we urge you to look forward to the future and imagine yourself living in this pretty part of the North East Coastline in one of the most magnificent houses on the street.
Built circa 1750 this cottage is probably the most interesting of the four in this terrace. Having been originally a grocery store in the 1880's for many years the property then became the post office to the village where local people could buy stamps and groceries before it reverted back to its original state as a residence.
Currently this stone built cottage has undergone a huge transformation and having been fully refurbished and extended you are invited to be dazzled by the high end finish and spacious rooms.
Situated on Front Street Preston Village, which is without question in one of the most sought after areas of this pretty little coastal village you will certainly not be disappointed by location.
An absolute great commuter base as within easy reach of the A19 and Tyne Tunnel. The Coast Road provides a link to Newcastle and surrounding towns.
