" An attractive stone built cottage under a tiled roof which has been renovated and extended in recent times. The property is located in the sought after village of Castlethorpe.

The property has accommodation set over two floors offering a wealth of character along with the modern convenience of larger than expected rooms for this style of property. Comprises three reception rooms which include a large almost square lounge with an inglenook style fireplace, a study and a good size dining room which is open-plan to the fitted kitchen. In addition there are front and rear halls and a cloakroom. On the first floor there are three double bedrooms including a large master bedroom measuring 22 feet in length. Outside the gardens extend of approaching 90 feet in length.

Ground Floor The property has been extended to the side and rear on both the ground and first floors. There are two entrances to the property, one to the front and one to the side both of which are entered via beautifully hand crafted bespoke hardwood doors. The front entrance hall gives access to the cloakroom with w.c. and basin, the lounge and kitchen. The lounge has an inglenook fireplace which is not currently used although there does appear to be a chimney in situation. It has deep silled windows to the front and rear and some exposed ceiling timbers. The kitchen has a range of units to eye and base levels with a single drainer sink and space for all kitchen appliances. It has a breakfast bar and is open-plan to the dining room located in the extension to the rear which has French doors opening onto the garden. The rear hall leads off to the dining room. An inner hall leads to the study and has a dog-leg staircase rising to the first floor. First Floor The long landing has natural light provided by a window and two skylights, a storage cupboard and gives access to all rooms. A stunning master bedroom to the rear extends to 22 feet in length, 13 feet in width with a high vaulted ceiling. There is plenty of scope and space to add an en-suite bath or shower room. There are two further double bedrooms. The bathroom has been fitted in recent times and has a range of bathroom cabinets, w.c. with concealed cistern, wash hand basin and a 'p' shape shower bath with shower over. It has tiled walls and floor with electric underfloor heating and a skylight window. Outside The rear garden is approaching 90 feet maximum length and is laid to lawn with stocked flower and shrub beds. To the far end there is a small area of wild garden designed to attract wild life. The garden is enclosed by fencing and one of the garden sheds will remain. There is stone built barn, ideal for storage and with mains electricity. Heating The property has gas to radiator central heating. Windows The property has UPVC double glazed windows. Location - Castlethorpe As the name implies, the village of Castlethorpe was built around the site of a medieval castle of a modern Bailey design and today only the earth works remain. It is a small and attractive village surrounded by Buckinghamshire countryside with facilities to include a small grocery shop, a village hall, church and a small village school with approximately 40 pupils 4-7 years of age which received an excellent Ofsted report in 2014. The canalside Navigation pub serves food and is adjacent to a small marina is a pleasant one mile countryside walk away. The village has good road links and is conveniently located close to the towns of Stony Stratford (approximately three miles), Newport Pagnell (approximately four miles), Central Milton Keynes (approximately seven miles) with its mainline railway station with 30 minute train into Euston, and Wolverton (approximately three miles) again with a mainline railway station and a 24 hour Tesco. An ideal village for those looking for countryside living yet close to extensive facilities.
