" Beautifully renovated Victorian cottage in a quiet village near Buckingham, with extensive landscaped gardens, summerhouse and an outside office

Delightful Victorian cottage with extensive gardens and outside office in a quiet village near Buckingham Location Wicken is a pretty and historic village in a quiet spot just East of Buckingham. Dating back to pre Norman times it is a quiet and unspoilt village with a vibrant local community (see www.wickennorthants.co.uk), a village hall, sports club and conservation society, plus a wonderful parish church. Access to Buckingham and Milton Keynes is easy by road, with fast rail links to London from Milton Keynes. The property Number 35 has been the subject over the last few years of a renovation amounting to a labour of love. Our client is a professional landscape gardener hence the extensive gardens are beautifully presented and set up for easy maintenance while still providing a myriad of trees, shrubs and border plants alongside seating areas and a Summer house. Throughout the property immense care has been taken to try and preserve the character while ensuring the property is easy to use. Entering through a pretty porch the living room is inviting with good natural light from two windows. A reclaimed fireplace to suit the Victorian style has been added, with alcove shelving either side, and the room dimensions are almost square. To the rear a door leads to a comprehensively fitted kitchen with tiled floor and real wood units, a stainless steel double oven and ceramic sink. The rear wall has been opened up with the addition of a lovely, high quality conservatory in Victorian style with double doors to the side, making this a wonderful and light entertaining space. Upstairs both double bedrooms, one with extensive wardrobes and storage and overlooking the garden, are exceptionally light with vaulted ceilings into the high eaves. The bathroom has been the subject of a complete change and now features many storage shelves and units alongside a modern white suite with mosaic tiles to the walls and a tiled floor underfoot. This room also features a vaulted ceiling, and overlooks the garden. Outside The gardens are stunning. A path runs to the lane for easy access but also to the end of the garden where several sheds rub shoulders with a very modern South facing Summerhouse alongside decking abutting a rockery. There are power and water connections ready for use with the Summerhouse if desired, and the whole with lawned areas and many trees is wonderful. Adjacent to this the large garage has been internally converted to provide a generous outside work space. Power, light and water supplies are in place and the building is insulated with windows and storage above. This is ideal for use as a home office or hobbyists room, however the timber garage door has been retained hence it could be used once more as a much larger than average garage if desired.
