" Imagine being able to get out of bed and be on a train to London within 30 minutes, how would you value those extra minutes in bed or to be indoors after a hard days work within minutes of leaving the train, it certainly sounds appealing if you are a commuter, and it can be a reality with this attractive Victorian cottage. However, this is not just a property for the commuter, it should also appeal to the buyer seeking a village location who does not want to live on an estate. You can walk to the village centre in moments and the Kent countryside surrounds the property and can be enjoyed within a few minutes walk. The current owners bought the property for all of the above reasons, they moved down from London initially for value for money, but also for the convenience, as they needed to be able to return to London regularly for their social life. They also liked the idea of having a project and since owing the property they have refitted the bathroom with a Victorian style roll top bath and a contemporary walk in shower, they have installed replacement double glazing to the front of the house and stone flooring to the kitchen with under floor heating, but the feature they have enjoyed the most is the wood burning stove in the lounge for those cosy nights in.

What the Owner says:

We bought our cottage eight years ago, it was in need of some updating and modernisation and we have enjoyed working on the property and making improvements we feel are visual as well as practical. The size of the property suited our needs and we particularly liked having two double bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. We have retained some of the original features including fire grates to the bedrooms. We love our garden, which extends 80’, and we also enjoy taking country walks which are literally on our doorstep.
