" Upnor is one of the most sought after locations in North Kent. If sailing or any water sports are a keen interest, where better to live than on the shores of the Medway Estuary. The village has 2 yacht clubs which cater for all abilities, so don't be shy to pop down and say hello. If you have a more relaxed approach, then take an opportunity to enjoy the scenic views overlooking the Historic Dockyards or re-live the history of the village by visiting Upnor Castle and grounds. Perhaps then take the opportunity to rest and recuperate by catching up with the locals in the village public house.The current owners, Mark and Sue, have lovingly re-decorated throughout to a high standard. Their riverside home has kept a nautical theme in the replacement of the kitchen, downstairs cloakroom and upstairs bathroom. The home is ready to be lived in so you can enjoy a perfect peaceful retreat.Outside of the village, approximately 2 ½ miles away, is the Historic High Street of Rochester with its range of bars and restaurants. The town also has a Cathedral and grounds which can be explored. A high speed link is also available from Strood train station to London allowing any commuter to shorten their travelling time.

When we were looking for a home, there were not many properties that suited our criteria, once we found the village of Upnor, it was easy to see why it was renowned to be called the special village. Since living here, the locals have really made us feel at home, Mark has a keen interest in water sports so being so close to the river was perfect. We have made vast improvements including re-decorating throughout and replacing the kitchen and bathroom. We have enjoyed the walks in the area and love how quiet and peaceful the area is.
