Don't miss the opportunity to view this rarely available seventeenth century cottage which has been sympathetically modernised for a contemporary lifestyle whilst still retaining lots of historic character. The triple aspect sitting room has an impressive inglenook fireplace which includes a traditional cast iron stove.

Other rooms on the ground floor include a double aspect dining room, farmhouse style kitchen, garden room and laundry room/cloakroom. On the first floor is the master bedroom with en-suite shower room, guest bedroom and family bathroom. On the top floor there are two further bedrooms, one of which is currently used as a home/office. There is no shortage of built-in storage, especially in the master bedroom which has fully fitted wardrobes from wall to wall. (Note: restricted headroom on the top floor due to sloping ceilings).

The stunning gardens extend to three sides of the house and are a delight throughout the year.  French doors from the garden room lead to a secluded patio and water feature.  A shared drive leads to a detached garage plus parking space for an additional 2/3 cars.

The property is very conveniently located being only 3 miles from the M20 and a similar distance from West Malling with its excellent range of local shops and restaurants.  Main line stations are also nearby at Barming and East Malling.  The Bluewater regional shopping centre and Ashford International station for high speed trains to the Continent are both easily accessible and are about 30 minutes drive away.

The owner saysโ€ฆ.

Teston is a delightful village with a riverside country park and is very conveniently situated between the more built up areas nearby and the open countryside of the green belt.

What attracted us to the house initially was the abundance of natural light when compared with other period properties of this age.

We benefit from a very secluded position with a long front garden containing numerous shrubs and trees to keep the rest of the outside world at bay.  The unusual design of the house, with its cat-slide roof at the back means that, although the rear garden and patio face north, they can still be in full sun from early morning until sunset.

Over the past 18 years, we have very much enjoyed turning this into our own special home and feel sure that the new owners will also appreciate its numerous period charms.
