DESCRIPTION
This delightful cottage dates back to 1711 and includes a wealth of character and period features. These include exposed timber and brickwork, exposed floorboards, woodburner plus open fire and, because it was originally 2 cottages, there are two staircases. The main staircase leads to bedroom 1 and bedroom 2 and although you can access bedroom 3 from here, the 2nd staircase also leads direct to bedroom 3. Downstairs, there are two reception rooms consisting of a sitting room and dining room, and bathroom. Outside are gardens to the side and rear, with a brick outhouse and log store and further shed at the top of the garden. The elevated position offers some superb views. Boughton village (full name Boughton-Under-Blean) lies about 3 miles east of Faversham and about 5 miles west of the Cathedral City of Canterbury. It is situated next to Blean Woods and close to the A2, which gives access to the motorway network. There are many scores of old buildings either side of the main street along with various local shops. This main street forms part of the Roman Road from London to Canterbury and Dover where pilgrims passed through on their way to Becket's shrine at Canterbury. It is a designated conservation area. The local primary school is very popular and there are a variety of secondary public and private schools in Canterbury and Faversham. The nearest National Rail stations are Canterbury and Faversham. There is a regular bus service to Faversham, Canterbury and Whitstable.
