Best practice requires us to obtain satisfactory evidence of the buyer's identity where an offer has been accepted. As soon as this occurs the buyer must provide to us a current photocard driving licence showing their current address, or their current passport together with an item of evidence to prove their address such as a utility bill (not a mobile phone bill) or bank statement dated within the last 3 months or a council tax demand for the current year. Alternatively a letter from their solicitors confirming that they have checked the buyer's identity will be acceptable.
