There is a wealth of variety for enjoying this lovely part of the country and easy road access to main centres. The village of Talybont -on- Usk is 1 mile away with transport to local schools. There is a very good primary school in nearby Llangynidr and secondary schools in Brecon and Crickhowell. There are also welsh speaking schools in Brecon and Abergavenny.

There is a shop/post office and village hall and good community facilities in Talybont. There is a selection of exellent inns, pubs and restaurants and a welcoming community atmosphere.
There are supermarkets in Brecon and in Abergavenny and health centres in Brecon and Crickhowell.
