" Sowerbys are delighted to offer a pretty, detached cottage in the conservation village of Northwold, Norfolk; a location desired for a relaxed village atmosphere alongside easy access to Thetford Forest, local town amenities and other towns such as Bury St Edmunds being only 25 miles away. Also the village has the significant benefit of being just 13 miles from a mainline train station to Ely, Cambridge and London at Downham Market.

The cottage itself is set on a corner plot in the heart of the village on Church Lane. There is a garden to the front offering a great deal of privacy set with lawn and BBQ patio alongside parking and access to a garage facility. Inside, the house has been largely updated by the current owner into a fine example of a period Norfolk cottage. The property comprises a reception area with original restored staircase to the first floor and doors to the sitting room and kitchen. The sitting room benefits from an entirely new floor including the joists now set with attractive oak floorboards and open fireplace. The kitchen is new and has shaker style units with solid oak worktop, butler sink, plumbing for washing machine and space for a range cooker. NORTHWOLD Northwold is roughly equidistant between the market towns of Thetford, Swaffham and Downham Market. Northwold is the larger of the two villages in the parish and has a sports and social club, whilst Whittington has a garage and caravan & camping site, as well as being the base for a number of local businesses. The two villages are located approximately two miles apart and both are positioned alongside the River Wissey. Methwold is 7 miles away with a church, post office, secondary and primary schooling, sixth form department, chip shop and shops including a village store, sports facilities, a public house and other amenities. Further amenities can be found at the nearby market town of Downham Market (10.6 miles) where there is a main line railway station that goes to London Kings Cross (90mins) and it is an ideal place for walking or cycling and the peaceful waterways are excellent for boating and fishing. There is an alternative route to London via Brandon railway station (8.8 miles away).
