Where Carbrooke village school is situated used to be a Knights Hospitaliers Commanderie, this site was visited some years ago by ‘Time Team‘ where many artefacts were found .

The church is located next to the school and it too a very historical building, having been rebuilt in the 14 century.

More recently, a suit of armour was found in the Bell Tower, which is thought to date back to Cromwellian times... hence the name of our bungalow ‘Knights Rest‘.

SCHOOLS:

Village school, St.Peter‘s & St.Pauls Ofsted rating - Excellent-
Senior school, approximately 2 miles by bus to Watton academy.

LOCAL INFORMATION:
Carbrooke village church hall, benefiting from a licenced bar - is open Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons, available to hire and facilitates village activities e.g. Yoga etc, at the rear of the Village Hall is a 10-acre Millennium Green, which has a children‘s playground, large pond and two wooded areas.

Nearby Watton - just 2 miles away, offers a number of further amenities including a Tesco supermarket and a large Lidl supermarket (under construction) and a range of other shops and amenities, together with a doctor‘s and dentists.
