DESCRIPTION
A Rothschild "cottage in the countryside" with many period features, large gardens and stunning views. This is a stunning location, surrounded by rolling Chiltern countryside to the front and rear, with easy access to attractive local towns. London is easily accessible via train (Berkhamsted to Euston, approx.35 minutes) or London Underground (Chesham to Baker Street, Metropolitan Line, approx.55 minutes).

The Property 
The entrance hall has the original quarry tiled floor and stairs rising to the first floor. From the hall, a door opens into the ground floor living room. In the living room, a large window looks onto the front garden. Features of the living room include a cast iron fireplace, picture rails, original wood block parquet flooring and cupboards, including a useful storage cupboard under the stairs, and original period fittings on doors and windows. At the rear of the property are the kitchen and bathroom suite. The cottage kitchen is thoughtfully fitted with wall and floor units, ample work surfaces, a sink set below a window to the rear, and wall and floor tiles from Fired Earth.
Upstairs are three good sized bedrooms. Two are at the rear and the master bedroom is at the front; all have stunning views across countryside. Features of the first floor bedrooms include original period fireplaces with original accessories; original period fittings on doors and windows; and stained timber floors.
Above the first floor is a large loft providing extensive storage space and potential for easy conversion into a bedroom

(subject to planning and regulations). Neighbours have converted their attic spaces to allow the bathroom to be relocated to the first floor.


Outbuilding 
Immediately to the rear of the property in the original outbuilding which is brick built with a pitched and tiled slate roof and has electricity running to it. The building is divided into three sections, two have windows and are ideal for storage and the third houses the oil-fired boiler which serves the heating and hot water.

Outside 
The house stands on a plot which is around 250 ft in length. The front offers a gravelled driveway providing off-road parking and a small area of lawn with pathway to the front door. The rear garden is a wonderful feature of the property and backs onto fields and woodland. Much of the garden is laid to lawn, with a small pond and a small patio. To the rear of the garden is a greenhouse and two sheds.
