" DESCRIPTION
Frederick Street consists in the main of late Victorian and early Edwardian houses which the writer has seen many of, number 74 has been crafted into a unique example of the former. The interior has the feel and look of an earlier period cottage with the introduction of veiling beams and natural materials finishes of timber and brick. The ground floor has exposed and painted brickwork complimented by floorboards providing a wealth of charm. The elevations are brick under a slate roof, the front having sash style double glazed wooden windows and bearing the name Kartourii Cottages and the date of 1885.
There are two front doors into either the sitting room or on the left the hallway which opens to the dining room or snug that has a handsome working fireplace raised upon a stone hearth. The staircase is in this room and off to the right is a sitting room also equipped with a fireplace (believed to be working but not used by the current owner). In the breakfast area are double doors to the garden and the kitchen is fitted with oak units and black granite effect worktops. On brick piers is a butlers sink that has a mixer tap with pull out spray nozzle, integrated is a fridge/freezer, plumbing is supplied for a dishwasher and built in is a John Lewis induction hob and Belling oven. A lobby provides space and plumbing for a washing machine. The bathroom has a ceramic floor and white suite. There is a wc, contemporary wash basin with chrome mixer tap above and cupboards below and a freestanding roll top bath with ball and claw feet and floor mounted taps that incorporate a hand held shower.
Upstairs on the small landing is a loft hatch and stripped pine doors to the bedrooms. It should be noted that many of the houses in Frederick Street have converted the attic space into a further bedroom. The first floor currently has two double bedrooms, the largest with a feature fireplace and cast iron grate and number two a built in wardrobe.
OUTSIDE
The front is gravelled to park one vehicle off road.
At the rear it is landscaped compromising of a paved patio, flowers, shrubs, trees and a square of lawn entwined with stone chippings. For storage there is a brick shed.
