" A delightful cottage of considerable character and charm that takes full advantage of the features associated with a building of this period with part brick and tile hung elevations with inset leaded light windows beneath a tiled roof. The cottage is beautifully appointed and provides a very fine and interesting home whilst still retaining all of its inherent character. The cottage is full of character with exposed beams and is far larger than initially anticipated with a spacious sitting room with an Inglenook fireplace opening into the kitchen/dining room. The kitchen is fitted with a range of cabinets, gas hob and an electric oven. There are two double bedrooms and the cottage also has the considerable benefit of a first floor bathroom with a bath and a shower over. The cottage is complemented by a lovely garden and summerhouse. This is a charming and most interesting cottage that really has to viewed to be fully appreciated.

Situation
The cottage stands within the conservation area close to the heart of the historic village of Chawton. The village has a number of period houses and is renowned for its long association with Jane Austen. Chawton stands within the South Downs National Park. The village has an active community with a church, primary school, public house, coffee shop and museum. The market town of Alton is a mile or so distant and provides a comprehensive range of shopping, recreational and educational facilities as well as a mainline railway station to London Waterloo. The A31 at Alton provides a link to the A3 and M3 which provides a route to London, the south west and beyond.
