" The Chase is an example of neo-classicism and one of the finest examples of the eminent Architect Harold Falkner's work. Number 4 represents the southern western portion of the building and stands within some of the principal gardens of the house. Many of the original architectural features remain, including high ceilings, stunning coving, beautiful ceiling roses, dado rails and features circular windows to name but a few. The current owners have lovingly improved this property in the last few years to include a superb kitchen/dining room, re-plastering to most of the rooms, new bathrooms, the installation of traditional radiators, a new boiler and general redecoration. On entering the house, a large entrance hall welcomes you, with a storage cupboard, feature arch display with cupboard below and a cloakroom. In addition there is a utility cupboard with a water purifier/softener and plumbing and space for a washing machine and dryer. Stairs lead down to the cellar which we understand from the vendor has been waterproofed (including the stairwell), and is currently used as a games room for the children. It is wired for a surround sound system and there is cool storage for wine.

From the hall, you enter the living room with open fireplace. This is open plan to the kitchen via two archways, and also to the second living room which is currently used as a study (also with open fireplace), and to a small boot room. All have teak parquet floors. The boot room leads to a courtyard with outside sink. The kitchen/dining room is the heart of the house for living and entertaining, with a large roof lantern flooding light into the room. There are hand painted cupboards and oak work surfaces, housing fridge, hidden freezer, integrated dishwasher and with a Range cooker. The kitchen leads onto the south west terrace.

Stairs with a half turn, window and storage cupboards lead up to bedrooms 1 and 2. The master double aspect bedroom has original floorboards and wardrobe cupboards with silver leaf mirrored doors. The bathroom was designed and covered in Moroccan tiles from Habibi. It incorporates a bath, separate shower cubicle (power) and hand cast nick-plated wash basin, all with wall mounted nickel taps. Stairs lead up to the second floor where there are further storage and linen cupboards, with hanging space on the landing. Up here there are two further bedrooms, one with original fireplace, both overlooking the garden. There is a bathroom with slate floors and antique mirror glass. "
