THE SITUATION
Coopers is situated in a delightful location on the Eggesford Country Estate in the grounds of the famous Fox & Hounds Hotel. It is approached from a private courtyard and forms part of a small group of similar homes. The gardens to the hotel, fishing lakes and the lovely wooded backdrop, enjoy a wide abundance of wildlife. Chulmleigh, a small but busy town, is just under three miles away. It is the centre for an active and friendly community and offers a good range of local shops along with a primary school, community college, health centre, dental surgery, Post Office, bank, churches, library, public houses and a short 18 hole golf course. The market town of South Molton to the north and Crediton to the south both offer a more comprehensive range of facilities. Within walking distance is Eggesford railway station, on the picturesque Tarka Line, providing a service between Exeter and Barnstaple. Road access is via the A377 or the North Devon Link Road, which can easily be accessed at South Molton. Barnstaple, North Devon's regional centre, and the Cathedral and University City of Exeter both offer a wide range of shopping, amenities and facilities. Tiverton, the M5 motorway at Junction 27 and Tiverton Parkway station, which provides a fast Intercity rail link to London Paddington, are both approximately forty-five minute's drive. Whilst salmon and trout fishing are available on the estate, along with fine dining at the hotel there are also other excellent recreational and sporting facilities in the area. Near-by golf courses are at Chulmleigh, Libbaton, High Bullen and Down St Mary. As would be expected in this beautiful part of Devon there is excellent walking and riding in all directions. North Devon's scenic and rugged coastline is approximately three-quarters of an hour's drive.
