STOCKLEIGH ENGLISH is a small parish comprising little more than a scattering of period properties spread out around the ancient church of St Marys.

CHERITON FITZPAINE is a parish and substantial village approximately one and a half miles north-east of the Crediton/Tiverton A3072 road. It is a typical Mid Devon village with traditional white cottages and thatched roofs. There is a pub, a post office/store and a doctors surgery. A brand new multi million pound primary school opened in October 2010 for 125 local children. The city of Exeter is about 9 miles away and the town of Crediton 5 miles with its shopping centre and schooling facilities. 

DIRECTIONS From Crediton take the A3072 towards Tiverton for about 3.5 miles and turn left at Coffin Tree Cross as signed to Cheriton Fitzpaine. From here follow all the road signs to Stockleigh English (about 1.5 miles). When in the hamlet St Marys Cottage will be found adjacent to the church.
