A detached village house with spacious and adaptable accommodation. Sitting room, dining room, snug/ bedroom 4, kitchen/breakfast room, utility, shower room, conservatory, three bedrooms, en-suite & family bath. Good gardens & parking.

Situation

The Old Post Office is situated on the edge of the pretty village of Buckerell, a small rural community surrounded by rolling East Devon countryside which lies a short distance to the west of Honiton. The nearby hamlet of Weston has a popular pub the Otter Inn, and the village of Awliscombe is about 2 miles which has a village hall and well regarded primary school. The Old Post Office is in the catchment for the respected Kings School at Ottery St Mary. The market town of Honiton is about 3 miles and has an excellent range of facilities including a Tesco superstore, a variety of independent antique and book shops, a community hospital, schooling and recreational facilities. There are excellent travel communications with a main line station to London Waterloo, and access to the A 30 dual carriageway to Exeter, about 17 miles, with an international airport, M5 access and rail station to London Paddington.

Description

The Old Post Office is a charming detached house which offers surprisingly spacious and well presented accommodation, with attractive period features. On the first floor are three bedrooms, all good sized with views to the front, some exposed beams and built in cupboards to bedroom 2, and en suite shower room to bedroom 1. The family bathroom has a delightful freestanding slipper bath, chrome towel rail with radiator, pedestal basin and WC.

The cellar is accessed from a door at the front of the house and is a useful, dry room for storage and workshop area, with natural light and power.

Outside

The property is approached via the side lane, where there is off road parking for two vehicles. A solid timber gate leads into the rear garden which is delightful and sheltered with lawns and an abundance of carefully tended plants, a summerhouse and garden shed. There are gardens to the west and south with a terrace and a raised deck, and a sheltered rear patio currently houses a hot tub, which could be available by separate negotiation. The front door is approached via steps from the lane at the front.
