Stylish detached 2 bedroom chapel conversion with views, parking and a garden.

The Old Chapel started life as a Wesleyan Meeting House and was built in 1846 but ceased to be a place of worship some years ago. In recent years, the property has been transformed into a series of light bright contemporary living spaces taking full advantage of the scale of the property and its position adjoining local countryside. The accommodation on the ground floor is for the most part open plan with an eating area and a handmade kitchen to one end of the space, and a sitting area arranged around a wood burning stove and a second eating area to the other. Beyond the living area there is the second of 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a utility room, while upstairs there is a principal bedroom with a vaulted ceiling to one end of the space together with an en-suite shower room. To the other end there is a study/sitting area taking in the views that could very easily be converted into a third bedroom if so required. The design of the property takes full advantage of the large arched gothic-style windows while the property as a whole has a particularly tactile feel to it with the extensive use of reclaimed timber throughout. The property is in excellent order and has been converted to contemporary building regulations.

The Old Chapel lies on the south side of Salwayash, an attractive village 6 minutes drive from the popular rope making town of Bridport that lies a short distance away from the Jurassic coast, recently designated a World Heritage Site. The village itself provides a village school, church, public house and village hall, while the county town of Dorchester lies within comfortable motoring distance to the east and Lyme Regis and Axminster lie to the west.

The property was formerly a holiday let. Although it is now residential, the current owners successfully let the property out on a regular basis to fund their own travels.
