Woodcroft Gardens is situated on the east side of the traditional dales village of Stanhope. Within Stanhope is a range of facilities which includes doctors and dental surgeries, primary school, a range of grocery shops, petrol station, several public houses and other independent businesses. The village is serviced by a regular bus route that runs both up and the Weardale and connects to the larger towns in the area at Durham City. A secondary school and community college can be found in the nearby town of Wolsingham, just 10 minutes drive away.

For the commuter the region?s main business centres of Darlington, Durham and Newcastle all offer a national rail service for those wishing to travel further afield and these cities can be accessed within 1 hour by car.

International airports can be found at Durham Tees Valley and Newcastle, both offering domestic and international flights.
