The Area

Barnard Castle
Thorngate is a popular area of Barnard Castle, within walking distance of the town centre via The Bank. Thorngate offers an idyllic setting adjoining the River Tees alongside the ?Green Bridge?.

Barnard Castle is an historic market town which provides a range of shopping, educational and recreational facilities.

The Demesnes which is a delightful open recreational space lies eastwards along the river from where there are further walks. Often referred to as the ?Gateway to Teesdale? there are many renowned beauty spots close at hand as well as the attractions of the North Yorkshire Moors and Dales, the Lake District and Northumberland.

For the commuter the A66, A67 and A1 (M) provide links with the major commercial centres of the North East. Darlington Mainline Railway Station and Durham Tees Valley International Airport offer further communications with the rest of the country.

The Property

Cheesborough House
Cheesborough House is a delightful Grade II Listed property which occupies a highly sought after location within Barnard Castle. The property offers characterful accommodation having the benefit of gas fired central heating and an enclosed rear courtyard.

To the first floor there are two bedrooms which are both en suite. The master bedroom lies to the rear of the property and is a generous double room having beams to the ceiling, decorative cast iron fireplace with stone surround and window which enjoys views over the rear courtyard and beyond to the River Tees. This room has the benefit of an en suite bathroom which is partially tiled and fitted with a white suite including bath with shower over, hand wash basin and WC.

The second bedroom lies to the front of the property and again is a good sized double room having decorative cast iron fireplace, beams to the ceiling and view to the front over Thorngate. Adjoining this room is a shower room/WC which has decorative panelling to the walls, walk in shower cubicle, hand wash basin and WC.
