Castle Douglas is a popular market town with a good range of individual shops, primary and secondary schools, churches, theatre and is set in the heart of local agricultural and commercial life.  A stroll along the town’s charming streets is a little like stepping back in time, traditional butchers, fishmongers, bakers, delicatessens and unique boutique shops. You can sample locally-brewed ales in the town’s family-run brewery.  You can choose from a wide selection of home cooking or international cuisine in local cafés, restaurants and hotels.

Set in a quiet area of Castle Douglas, 18 Torrs Place is a short walk into the town centre.  This attractive terraced house has been beautifully furnished and carefully maintained by its current proprietors.  The property enjpys beautiful views of the countryside and benefits from full gas central heating and double glazing throughout.

The house has a good sized garage which has power and lights and has a spacious garden shed at the side of the house which has an useful outside tap built into it and lights The garden is laid with paving and pebble areas incorporating a drying area. A sheltered area is set up in one corner and has raised ornate borders with pebbles, shrubs, trellis and rocks.

The house has two large double bedrooms with very good size walk in double wardrobes with mirrored doors .  The living room/dining area is of a very good size and the modern kitchen has fitted units. a fitted gas hob, electric oven and extractor hood, with plumbing for a washing machine.

The bathroom contains a shower cubicle, W.C. and wash hand basin set in a modern vanity unit with storage cupboards, mirrors, display shelves and a heated towel rail.  

The house benefits from a number of very good sized cupboard spaces all around the house, with one of the larger cupboards currently being used as a small office with internet access and phone socket installed.

Access to the loft is via a fitted hatch and ladder from the kitchen and is a good space for storage purposes.

The house itself is designed where the bedrooms are downstairs and the main living area upstairs, making the house very warm therefore fuel bills are very low. The house has recently had new loft insultaion and cavity wall insulation and LED low energy bubs have been fitted throughout  and energy bills are very low even in the colder months.
