  • Grade II Cottage
    • Original Features
    • Two Reception Rooms
    • 3 Bedrooms
    • Driveway
    • Extensive Landscaped Gardens

A rare opportunity to purchase a piece of Nantwich's historic Grade II listed three bedroom cottage which consists of a timber framed gabled cottage structure with painted brick infilling to the north, with a converted brick barn extension containing plain wood casement windows. The cottages accommodation comprises of: lounge, kitchen, dining room, downstairs bedroom, two further bedrooms and family bathroom on the first floor. to the front of the cottage there is a driveway leading to off road parking. To the rear of the property extensive garden.

The property is set back from the street and sits in excess of 0.5 acres (un-measured) of mature gardens and for probably much of the 17th and 18th century would of been the last house of the town as one went south along Barker Street. The secondary brick south extension is also a single cell of one and half storey with a gable to the south. It probably dates from the 18th or 19th century (it can be seen from the 1848 plan of the town that it was in existence by this date. It was almost certainly built as a stable/agricultural building, probably to house animals on the ground floor with the storage loft above, rather than living accommodation.
The historical significant parts of the building complex are therefore the original brick infill timber frame cottage, the plain wood casement windows, simple ledger door and the converted secondary brick barn extension to the south are later additions.
